REFLECTION FROM A ROUGH SURFACE

A rough and bumpy surface (also called irregular surface)reflects a parallel a parallel beam of light incident upon it in different directions .

Example of a rough surface is a normal paper and rough wall.

This kind of reflection is called diffused reflection.

REFLECTION FROM A SMOOTH SURFACE

A smooth or (highly polished surface) reflects a parallel beam of light incident on it in one direction.

A good example of a smooth surface is a mirror. Where you and infront of a mirror,you can see yourself in the mirror.
