Eligibility Criteria in Bihar Special School Teacher Eligibility Test 2023

  • Nationality: Indian
  • Age: Minimum 21 years and maximum 35 years as on July 1, 2023. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms in Bihar Special School Teacher Eligibility Test 2023
  • Qualification:
    • For Paper I (Classes 1 to 5): Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (Mental Retardation, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, or Orthopaedic Impairment) or BT/BEd with specialization in Special Education.
    • For Paper II (Classes 6 to 8): Master’s Degree in Special Education (Mental Retardation, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, or Orthopaedic Impairment) or MEd with specialization in Special Education.
  • Registration Fee:
    • General/BC/EWS candidates: ₹960 for single paper, ₹1440 for double paper
    • SC/ST/PwD candidates: ₹480 for single paper, ₹720 for double paper

  • Application Dates: Online applications open from December 2, 2023, and close on December 22, 2023.
  • Exam Pattern: Two papers, each with 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Paper I covers Child Development and Pedagogy, Language Development, Subject Methodology, and Disability Specific Pedagogy. Paper II focuses on subject knowledge of Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Social Science/Science.
  • Exam Dates: To be announced soon by BSEB.
  • Vacancies: A total of 7279 vacancies are available, categorized as 5,534 for trained special teachers for Classes 1 to 5 and 1,745 for Classes 6 to 8.
  • Passing Marks: General/BC/EWS candidates: 60% in each paper; SC/ST/PwD candidates: 55% in each paper.
