SIZE OF INDIA AND LAND BORDERS WITH SEVERAL SOVEREIGN COUNTRIES

Covering an area of 3.28 million Square kilometers, India’s total area is 2.4% of the total geographical area of the world.

India is the world’s seventh largest country with a land boundary of about 15,200km,with total length of the coastline being 7,516.6 km.

India’s East-West extent appears to be smaller than the north-south extent.

India shares land borders to several sovereign countries. It share land borders with China, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar.

Bangladesh and Pakistan share both land borders as well as maritime borders. While Srilanka shares only maritime borders. India’s Andaman and Nicobars Islands share maritime borders with Thailand ,Myanmar and Indonesia.
